On July 23rd, 2007 the New York Daily News featured a story about students from the High School of Computers and Technology (HSCT) in the Bronx who were mentored by Vision Education & Media's tech-savvy teachers during a six-week summer employment program. During their work with Vision Education & Media, HSCT students were taught how to transform old, donated computers into refurbished and workable machines. Once the repairs were completed, the HSCT students donated the computers to senior citizens living at the Bronxwood Home for the Aged, an elderly home near their school. We are extremely proud of the HSCT teenagers for their hard work repairing the old machines as well as the community engagement efforts they engaged in during this project. We applaud their efforts to share the technology skills they learned with other people in their neighborhood.

Vision Education & Media mentor Brian Burnett leads Samuel Gompers High School to victory in the 2007 ThinkQuest Competition. Along with Gompers teacher Mr. Hector Jorge, Brian developed a story idea with the students for a movie called "Our Poisoned Community: Our Hope for Remedy". With only music, the movie spoke of being a teenager in the South Bronx and the issues that go along with that. Students were awarded with brand new Digital Video cameras, one for every member of the team. They were honored in a ceremony at NBC's prestigious awards space at the top of the Rockefeller Center on May 31, 2007. Click here to view the winning video.

Sony Wonder Technology Lab hosts Vision Education & Media's BX-21 Program's Final Digital Video Celebration. BX-21 students from the Evander High School Campus and the Morris High School Campus got to view their work on the big screen at Sony Wonder's High Definition Theater. Students spent the year making digital videos and sound for those videos. Some made stop-motion animations.
